Québec

Quebec City was lovely on Sunday. It was sunny and warm. We had lunch in Trois-Rivières and then spent the afternoon and evening in Quebec itself. We went to see the Place Royale and strolled down Sault-au-Matelot to a fountain-monument that replicates the sea. I had seen it once and really wanted to see it again. We also saw the Parliament and the evergreen Château Frontenac.

Despite a very painful tooth nerve, I was able to enjoy the quaint atmosphere and pretty sights.

World on fire

I'm not a big fan of Sarah McLachlan, but I fell upon this song two days ago. This videoclip makes complete sense. Although there is a place for everything in this world, I've often wondered how so much money could be spent on creating nonsensical blockbusters when it could be redirected to worthier causes.

"Je ne connais qu'une alchimie qui donne de la beauté à l'âge: le sentiment."
-Marc Lévy, La prochaine fois-

J'ai rencontré cette phrase en lisant ce matin dans l'autobus. C'est beau :)

Transitions...

I don't know why even though by now we've all been through a lot of transitions and changes, goodbyes and hellos, it's never easy to go through them again. I don't know why change is such a hard thing to flow with, why our inner core tries to cling to what we know and love. People evolve, sometimes in the same direction, sometimes away from each other. Is it enough to say that if we've lived those moments together, as a group for example, we should simply say thank you and move on? Or can there be a way of evolving while keeping some of the most precious things anyway?

Est-ce que dans ce monde étrange, les relations humaines peuvent vraiment durer toute une vie?
