Tragedy is relative. And today was nearly tragic. I was in the bus in the afternoon, leaving Port-Louis (the capital) for Vacoas - a one-hour trip at peak time. I opened my wallet and I could only see is a 1000-rupee note. The fare is Rs24. The next step was to beg from my neighbour, or get off (the last bus!). I prayed and dug deeper, and came out with exact change just enough for Rs24.
After paying and settling back, all I could think of is how life's smallest things can suddenly become the only one thing that matters for ten long seconds.
